I have lots of mineral specimens I acquired over the years but not sure what they are or where they originated. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Pics with and without flash. 20191028_100037.jpg20191028_100053.jpg20191028_100140.jpg20191028_100222.jpg

Welcome to the forum. A trip to the bookstore or library for some books on rock and mineral identification as well as basic tests will help you if you have a lot of stuff to identify. There's a bunch of stuff on the internet to but I find books to be better :) As to what your picturing the round sphere looks to be smokey quartz. The blue crystal is nice and I feel its probably calacite, a hardness test and an acid test would help but test it on the back side as the front is very nice.

For the smokey blue color I say it’s blue quartz. Otherwise processed or examined by the jeweler it could be a blue indicolite tourmaline. Not too sure about the sphere.

Welcome from Texas

The blue one could also be fluorite, tough to tell for sure without doing a few easy tests like hardness and acid tests.

Thanks. The blue one also looks iridescent. Will definitely be headed to library

I am thinking it is fluorite. I did a lil scratch test it wouldn't scratch with penny but did with steel blade. Also has this odd bright yellow triangle in it under UV light. Actually looks really interesting under UV.
