Could someone help me identify this GF clock? It was given to me by a friend. He told me it's about 20-25 years old, the only prints I saw was in front of the clock's plate and it said "Western Germany". Its has birds and flower painting on it also. What is the brand, made and worth? Tha 20190730_141925.jpg20190730_134235.jpg20190730_141929.jpg20190730_141940.jpgnk you.

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard michaellam510! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

Welcome to Tnet from Toronto Michael! :hello:

I'm no horologist, but a closer inspection of the inside of the case and works would be necessary to determine the exact age of your clock.
From what I can see from your pictures, it looks very commercial, almost 'new'. :icon_scratch:

Here is a 'Chinese Arts, Black Lacquer Wooden Grandfather Clock' that I found on Amazon for comparison.

Get a pic of the movement. The German movement is used to make clocks like that in different styles. There was one posted a while back in an Early American style clock.

And since the clockwork says "Western Germany" we can date the whole thing in between 1945 and 1990 which is a tad bit older than what your friend said.

Likely even +10-15 years, since the early 80ies the German clockwork industry was going down the sewer due to the cheap quartzworks from Japan.

Not exactly my style, yet I think it would sell. Black lacquer is always going.
