Hi all
Newbie here. I need some help identifying some stones/minerals. I bought a pegasus figurine and the person said it was jade - I don't think it is. It is white with green mottling and a few black flecks. I have another stone that is about 2 inches long, shiny salmon colour with black flecks (picture doesn't show the sparkle/shiny). The third rock looks like some type of agate, it has bands of colour through it pictures don't show much. Any help appreciated.

Hi all - Newbie here. I need some help identifying some stones/minerals...

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Satyab6! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

2nd - If you have trouble ID'ng your finds - you might consider posting those pictures on GEOLOGICAL > ROCKS/GEMS

Welcome to Tnet from Toronto Satyab. :hello:
To help identify what type of stone you've got there, you might want to consider re-posting your thread here... Rocks/Gems

The folks there should be able to assist you as well,
Dave

PS. I just noticed that vpnavy offered the exact same advice. :laughing7:

The figurines are white jade. When I was stationed in Taiwan I saw much white figurines made for sale to tourist. In Vietnam you could find some white jade that was old but not able to define its age. Very beautiful and very expensive but did not buy as what era made?

Your figurine might be alabaster.
