Hey everybody, recently found this bullet in a Confederate camp. I know the first question... Whats the caliber? I lost my caliper (oops!) so I believe it's a .45 or .52. Somebody suggested a Adams Revolver or Hayes or 52 Sharps Flat base. Is this bullet of the war period or is it post war? Thanks image-3065341342.jpg image-1363600556.jpg image-718460515.jpg

Since nobody else has answered, I will. The "Handbook Of Civil War Bullets & Cartridges" shows it as a civil war era British-made .44 Hayes Patent bullet for blackpowder revolver. I can see some rifling-marks on yours, so it has been fired, but didn't hit anything before it ran out of gas and fell gently to the ground. That's a cool and scarce find. :)
