:hello:

Well, I did something I normally don't do, but took a risk on trade, for detecting equipment. I made a trade on some Seaforth Highlander stag pins and misc. buttons and little silver. So far, the buttons turned out to be civilian, or modern military and little to no value....OUCH! I am hoping someone can give me some good news as what these may appraise at. I know little of these, and went against my better judgment. One stag is definitely smaller than the other, and the horns are shaped differently. I understand that these are also faked. I was told before the trade, that he was offered 400.00 for both. Yes? No? My fingers are crossed. Hoping they are indeed of value to 400.00 or I am in the dog house. Again :D

Thanks!

If you look closely, there is a difference in size, and the antlers are different. That's what is throwing me off. Maybe different years? :dontknow:

Can you get a closeup of the hallmarks or just tell us what it says? That may help date them.

Mike, I suggest taking the stag by the antlers and contacting the Seaforth Highlanders with some detailed photos. The regimental historians should be able to give you all the info you need.

Good Ideas.

Here are the hallmarks. And this is odd, one of the bottom pieces is stamped and the other is not. I don't like this.
The one reads: Scott Adie LTD. London
Both Stags have nothing!
Both Crowns have NOTHING!

So, just one is stamped and it is one of the banners.

Mike, the hallmarks may or may not be important depending on time frame and what was going on. That's why I suggested good detailed photos. Your scanner might do a better job than a camera for this.
