Help needed: Detach controll box for hip mount.

Searched the forum and cannot find any discussion on how to detach the control box,
mount it on your hip or a harness, so that the shaft contains only the coil and the arm rest.

Is that possible, or is it easier to simply use a shoulder harness for the whole detector?
