I use the White's Spectrum XLT....And I still dig a lot of junk. I have heard good things about the Safari. I guess I would stick with it, and get one of those stretchy back braces. Anyone who digs a lot of junk also digs a lot of good stuff, has been my experience. Good luck! Niffler

How long have you been using the Safari?

Sorry but there is no detector I know of that is going to only tell you when there is something good to dig, the problem is many of the alloys in the metal are the same. We all have to dig the junk to get the good stuff....

Again....

But they haven't fixed the connector problem yet :D

My back hurts too

I have some advice that might help... there is a big difference in diggers, if you have a cheap one you will kill yourself digging, spend the money and invest in something like Predators model 85 digger or one of their shovels for field hunting, will be the best money you spent. Believe me when I say not all diggers are created equal.

i ran out and got the safari..i have dug some good stuff with it. but it seams i have to run in all metal mode to get any result.and yes its the heaviest machine ive ever used.sadly enough i like my xterra 50 alot better. but the safari is alot deeper. best with it is silver merc. at about 8 inches.hard dry ground.
