It looks like it could be a Model 1862. The problem with these is that they were made by several different makers in several different countries and they all look similar. Nice find and a cool relic!

It is a M1862 Navy saber that was made for a Navy Merrill Rifle it is really "RARE" though, too bad there is no blade I would look for a blade around were you found the handle
