Here is a local spot I'm trying to id, any ideas?

Location of a former missile silo, perhaps? Is it close to an Air Force Base there in Tulsa? Sub 8-)

It is a former military installation dating back to WWII days, and if it is what I think, it was used as a POW camp for Germans during the war.

A close up shows many pads and the area to the north appears to be a bee farm.
The bee farmer may know the answer.
You may also wish to call the local library and ask for the area's historian--then ask him.
Another option: Call the local Planning Department and ask them.

If you look at it closely it looks like someone had a house removed.

I think you are looking closer to Jenks.If it is you may be looking at the old sky line amusement park.I have always wanted to hunt that.Lord it has been a long time since i have been out that way.

I think it's water tower or oil platform in which case wouldn't really be worthy of a hunt. But it sure does look curious from the aerial view.

i used the address across/west of the field on elwood
the map only goes back to 2003,topo 1979, same as google maps in 2003
topo shows no house, but the housing development shows on topo too

I talked to a guy that lives just a few blocks from that.It is a storm water retention pond.That area is bad about flooding.
