Hi there! I have a beautiful jug with a mark I can't seem to ID. Checked Kovel's and it came up with nothing. What do you think? Any guesses as to its age or country of origin? DSCF4995.webpDSCF4994.webp

It looks like some of the pottery I've seen come out of the Carolina's and Kentucky.

What size is it? What part of the country did you find it? Also, can you get a better picture of the mark?

American, hey? Interesting - that seems consistent with the glaze and colours but I thought the stamp definitely looked European, no?

The jug is about 8.5" tall. I found it in a storage locker bought at auction in Vancouver, Canada. But that means little as we find things from all over the world here (I have an original Lenci statue from Italy, for example).

Will get another picture soon that will hopefully help!

I hope these pictures show the mark better. Any guesses? It's driving me crazy trying to figure it out!DSCF5088.webpDSCF5089.webp
