help me help me ive struck silver!

new to treasure net i was needing some help i went dectecting this weekend i found a thimble on the inside of it
it says sterling it also has 3 letters the first letter apears to be a m the secound letter is a k and the third a o the k is larger then the other letters on the outside is has what appears to be flowers engraved on the bottom half it also has a large L engraved on the outside just curious if anyone could give me any information how old or possible value i would post a picture but i dont know how thanks!

The inside is marked MKD or MKO. MKD, Ketcham and McDougall, a thimble maker in NY is best know for sterling silver thimbles.
