I dug this at a 1920s in the creek at a historical park in Atlanta ga I would like to have a age bracket of this button and know what’s the design mean?

Now that I look at it does kinda resemble that and it looks at least 100 years old to me. thank you

I agree that it's a cap.
A winged horselion body that has an eagle head.
Which is kind of cool.

A clue to research, the lion with an eagles head is called a Griffin.

Agree it’s a cap of some kind. The depicted animal is a griffin and it might be for the Griffin Manufacturing Company of Brooklyn, NY.

They first used that trademark in 1915 but didn’t register it until 1949, for “Cleaning fluid for wearing apparel, fabrics, upholstery and carpets; and liquid preparation for cleaning and polishing shoes.”

If it is one of their caps, some extensive Googling might turn up which of their products it relates to.

Thank you guys but I looked on Google could not find what mines was but it sure is a old company historical not sure if there in business anymore
