Hi guys, new member here!

Found this while detecting with my cheap detector, could you please help me ID it?
I've done some research myself, and I think it's a roman lead seal/ring. But I would need some experts help from here.

Thanks!

We need a little more information - like where you found it...

If found in New Jersey I would say...not Roman...

I would also like to see the back and something in the pictures to compare for size.

I found it in Durres, Albania. It's a well known ancient city with a lot of roman history.

Here are some more pictures to help you.

Not much detail left on it... Possibly Sol - God of the Sun - Protector of the Empire

I wouldn't say that, even if you can't see enough details in the pictures, I can see it very clearly that's not the case.

However, what type of artifact could it be? Seal maybe?

I don't think it's a seal. The relief is too high.

Maybe the remains of a ring or the center of a cameo brooch or pendant.

It's the long lost cousin to Scrappy's monkey face. "Do the Scrappy's Monkey"
