this is an old post but im around chimacum, no detector yet but hopefully i'll have one soon. there is a few places i've found on this website worth checking. there is alot of history here so researching the area will help in finding things. kinda a round about answer but dont wanna give up any potential spots i've been researching for weeks some even months. i actually found a mine on a friends land doing research about the area, went about 15, 20 feet into the bed rock.

start going up into the ravines where creeks feed into the ocean. theres alot of gold up there.

Rumor has it that a pirate ship hid gold up in the hills somewhere around there also.

Old logging camps, anywhere in town where you have permission, outside the ferry terminal, scout camps, meeting areas. Port Townsend is an older place so there will be lost coins in town, just need to find them. Any construction sites need searching including sidewalk's having been removed.................63bkpkr

Port Townsend WA, been there. I have visited a number of drinking holes in your fair town back in 1990-1991. had a great time, I know it's off the subject, but I really liked the place!

As far as hunting, any place humans have been, there is potential for treasure, so keep that in mind
