Help ID'ing this 3cm 5.5g foreign? coin

Hey everyone, my pops found this coin last season, but was so toasted, it's been soaking on and off until he remembered about it today. We have no clue what it is, maybe Spanish. I tried googling different things, but kept coming up empty. Maybe someone out there can help with the ID of this. Im not even sure if it's a coin :dontknow:

It measures 3cm across and weighs 5.5 grams. Made out of copper or brass I think. :icon_scratch:
Please :help:
Thanks,
L4S

Re: Help ID'ing this 3cm 5.5g foreign? coin

I agree: Carlos and Joana, Second Series, 4 Maravadies, copper, 27mm.
Obverse legend: KAROLVS ET IOHANA REGES
Reverse legend: HISPANIARVM ET INDIARV
Production was first ordered by Viceroy Mendoza in 1542, but the coins were unpopular and soon discontinued. Copper coinage did not reappear in Mexico until the reign of Fernando VII, more than 250 years later.
