Help Id'ing point for a Newbie

Hey all i mainly metal detect, but when the chance comes up to arrowhead hunt i will go. I found a good one today, and have tried researching it. I found this point in southern Illinois, close to the Indiana border. From my very crude searching it looks to be a corner notched opposite blade edge bevel?... Is this anywhere close to what it is, and if anybody has a timeframe or anything else about it would be appreciated...Thanks Monty The third pic is some of the other stuff i have found.

Re: Help Id'ing point for a Newbie

Looks like a dovetail to me. Resharpened that is.

Re: Help Id'ing point for a Newbie

What do you mean re sharpened? Or i should ask, how can you tell?.. Where are you in so Il?... Im in white county.

Re: Help Id'ing point for a Newbie

nice dovetail Monty, dovetail points start out much larger than that, your smaller sized dove suggests it was resharpened several times. Dovetails also called St. Charles and in some areas Plevna are from the early archaic 9000 - 5000 bc, a highly collectible type.

once you get the fever it stays, I dont really care if the fish are biting, the turkeys are gobbling, and how my short game is anymore, I feel like I'm wasting my time if I'm not looking for flint.
