Someone thought it could be hand forged 1800 shingle blade. One side is super flat other has a rounded bevel at blade.

I would say it's an old, hand-made hatchet head. I wouldn't think it belonged to a roofer, because I once spent a few years working for an old roofer. Roofing hatchets are made with a hammer's head on one side for driving nails (often wide, square, and flat) and a dull blade on the other side for splitting wooden shingles. So, a roofing hatchet is a tool with two functions. That tool shown above seems to only have one use: cutting/splitting. The shape reminds me somewhat of a tomahawk, though I doubt it was made by any of the tribes. Congratulations on a nice find!

broad head hatchet, Nice find. bead blast it, heat it up and straighten it, put a handle on it, sharpen it again and use it.
