Looks to me like a sports award. Maker's mark on back may give indication of age but pin back style can be early 20th or even 19th century. I've seen the type on my grandmother's jewelry.

Here is the acronym page for D.I.A.A.-http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/DIAA I'm thinking maybe a sports related pin from the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association, although, I agree it looks a little old to be from them. What does the back read?

Back reads C.G. Braxmar Co N.Y. The site it came from dates back to early 1700's so it could be from anything ???

Charles G. Braxmar Company was founded in 1879 by Charles Braxmar and is still in operation today. Unfortunately one evening in 1914 Mr. Braxmar investigated the odor of gas in his home with a candle. The explosion was fatal. The company then came under the ownership of one of his employees, Mr. John O. Veit, whose granddaughter owns it today.

Maybe from the "Dayton Industrial Athletic Association" they've been around a while unlike the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association which has only been around since the '90's I believe.

Sounds good to me. I've read articles that have referred to the assoc. as far back as the 1930's. This is from April/May of 2006- The Dayton Industrial Athletic Association (DIAA) is a membership organization that promotes fitness and has historically included some of the larger companies in the Dayton region. For a variety of reasons, DIAA’s board has made the decision to dissolve the organization and donate its cash assets to other community organizations. The Downtown Dayton Partnership, in conjunction with Five Rivers MetroParks, made a request for RiverScape Phase III and was awarded more than $70,000 specifically to be used toward the creation of a new ice rink through funds donated by the assoc.
