Help Identifying This Find?

Had a permission hunt at a 1930's house in Iowa, came across this about 6-7in deep, rang up 77-83 on a Garret 400. No dates or letters I could find, would appreciate any help identifying this. Looks like it should clip across something, just not sure what. Thanks in advance for any tips!! IMG_2074.jpg

Might be a Horse Rosette but the attachment is off-centre.:icon_scratch:
 

My guess is that it is 1/2 of a sash buckle. Originally. it probably would have looked like this:

The bar and hook set up would have been very similar to that shown in the second photo only a bit smaller.

I agree with my friend creskol, likely a sash buckle. :thumbsup:
Based on the design, probably 1920s - 30s.

I also agree with Creskol. Looks like half of a Sash Buckle to me. Nice find.
 

I'm with them! Part of an early 20th century buckle! Nice looking!
