These items are from either a friend's Great Grandfather (WWI vet) or Grandfather (WWII vet). TIA!

I think it's the Woodmen of the World tree stump logo... But I still like Matt's answer better, as it conjures up better visions about who wore it.

No, no! The buckle was worn by Wanda Elizabeth "Stumpy" McDowell who lost her hand in a terrible ordnance factory accident during the war. Or something like that...

Pre 1937 on the collar disc, as you can see the crosshatch pattern when enlarged... So my guess would be type II described here: Dating Metallic Insignia: Collar Disks
But, a clearer picture of the front, as Ken mentioned, would make it more certain, as it could be the type I. But either way, pre WWII.
