Collinsville, Oklahoma
Detector(s) used

Teknetics T2 SE LTD,
Teknetics Omega 8000,
Garret Carrot,
Tek-Point, 2 x Teknetics TLD
Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
I found this today in a field on my aunt's property. Her property is in the middle of where the original Collinsville, Oklahoma stood before being moved roughly a mile when the railroad arrived. I only had about a half hour of hunting this morning but will head back. I'll get better pictures if needed. I measured it with my calipers and it's 12mm. I'm unsure what that mark on the bottom is. It does have a mold seam going around it. Was it just a bad pour, i.e. not enough lead? It definitely is not magnetic at all and has a decent amount of white patina. It was about 7" deep.

I also found what appears to be iron pipes turned into nunchucks? I'll post a picture of that later. Definitely weird.

TIA and HH!!

Pipes

Here are the attached pipes. I have no idea. No history of martial artists on the property ;)

Welcome to the T-Net site.

That ball is a tough call ... I made a funny.

IMO
It could be a mark from something it hit or was pulled out with a threaded device of some kind ???

Could be a pour thing too ???

Hope you get an answer ASAP, The Iron pipes ...No Idea.

Good Luck on your future hunts.
Davers

It looks like the beat it with a bullet starter, making that mark on it.

I do not believe the pipes are nunchucks. :dontknow:

The nunchucks was a joke. I have no clue what they were for. Big brother vs siblings? ;)

The pipes are not lead. Perhaps wind chimes?

Correct, my bad, they are iron. They could be wind chimes but they are awful heavy. Great thinking though! Thanks :)

Could they be an improvised window sash counter weight?
you know the old kind that were attached by a rope with a pulley inside the wall to help the window go up and down easily.

They could be window or gate weights. The bullet appears to be a pistol ball, .36 caliber maybe...d2

I think the pipes may have been used to hold down a tent or awning. After going back out I've found some old rusty J hooks. Maybe a tent anchor. Thanks for all of the replies. Hopefully I'll find more to get a better idea of the site.

First thing I thought about pipes was tent related .... however if they are heavy that may rule that out ... most tents were made light for backpacking around

When I go backpacking and there is no good ground to stake in I tie the cords to rocks and bury them as an anchor. I'm thinking it may have been from an awning or something semi-permanent as a homestead was being built, but it's just a guess. I'm sure we will never know. I did find another unfired round ball of the same size today. I only have about an hour each night to hunt. Good thing it's my backyard :)
