Help identifying large old leaf (projectile?)

Spellchecker turned lead to leaf. Ugh.

Found near a Ford used heavily during civil war times in central va. Any idea? Non-ferrous, lead, looks to have suffered impact? Noticeably larger than a 12 ga Slug and much heavier. I will take a weight later.

That slug is pretty mangled up. I couldn't say if it's from a CW era to one from a modern front loader. Maybe other folks could tell ya?
