Help identifying button

Found this today on a old town site, I'm assuming it's a military button, civil war maybe, maybe newer??

It is newer. I am pretty sure it is a collar disc and may date around WWI. Try posting in the "What is it" forum near the top of the main page.

Thanks, I will do that, I was unaware of that thread. You are right it is a WWI collar disc, but I didn't find any on net like it, I'll try to get more info..... Thank you for the help!
