Help Identifying An Error

I am not so sure that it is an "error" coin. It sounds like it might be what we call a "variety coin". It sounds like the die that was used to strike the coin was worn, thus the variation in design on the coin. Of course variety coins are most common with pre-1900 coins, but they do exist! It is very hard to tell just by a description though -

Here is the pic. What I think is an error is in the lower left corner. Although it's hard to see, the collar is actually split.

It was struck very slightly off center. None of the design is missing so I doubt this coin would command any premium at all.
