Metal Detecting
I'm new to the site. I have been detecting for a little over a year now and these are the first finds I'm really having trouble finding info on. Buttons are definitely out of my wheelhouse. I'm usually out for coins. I found these today at an 1824 house. I added a dime to show size. Thanks in advance for any info.

Welcome to TreasureNet!
The first one is the back of an imported flat button with the shank (attachment loop) missing. These are generally said to date 1810-early 1830's. I can read London, and Orange (which is a common quality mark), but can't for certain make out the word around the very center... I'm guessing Extra Rich, which would be part of the quality mark.

Thanks for the information, I assumed it was from the early 1800's. The other one I unfortunately have nothing to go on since there are no markings on it. I was just hoping someone may have come across one in the past and had some info on it. Thanks again for your information.
