HI,
I was out and about in Germany today and found these 3 pieces of metal. They were about 6 inches deep and some what crumpled. There was a ruin of a church near by. They are thicker than foil so I thought maybe old tin roofing but the Germans never really used metal roofing as far as I know. 20170722_150627.jpg20170722_150702.jpg20170722_150657(0).jpg20170722_150654.jpg

I also thought maybe a disposable aluminum cooking tray they were each a few feet apart though.

Thanks for the help.

That looks Like the insulation they used to use to put around very hot things such a jet/ piston engine exhaust and such. Mostly found on military equipment.

Like this example. i am certain that's what it is. They came in many sizes and shapes I have seen aluminum ones as wells as Steel ones too, but Aluminum being lighter was mostly used.

Actually many or most modern cars use such aluminum heat shields around muffler, exhaust manifold, and catalytic converter areas. Also used near turbo chargers, anywhere heat needs to be kept insulated from other parts or bodies.
