Good afternoon and I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I am hoping someone with knowledge of swords can help me with this find. It is 30 inches long. Has a leather sheath. I am not sure what I have but looks old. have seen some that are somewhat similar, but not like this. any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Any markings on it?

At first I thought it was a French Model 1832 or another countries copy of the Foot Artillery sword, but the quillion is wrong.

I'm not finding a military short sword with that style quillion in my references. That doesn't mean it isn't mind you. Maybe a fraternal sword.......?

If it's void of markings it might be a fantasy piece, and they took some creative licensing in their design.

Maybe someone will chime it soon, that has more knowledge than me. In the meantime I'll continue to look and see what I can find or dig up.

Thanks for input. I had a dealer here in town look at it and he assumed the same thing. They said it possibly was a European sword from 1840’s. Hoping others may chime in as well. I appreciate your help on this too.

can't tell from the pic, but it looks like it never had an edge on it... that and the hex nut on the pommel makes me think it's a flea market fantasy sword
