Just found what appears to be the end of a scabbard by a tree in a park. At first I thought it was a crunched up pop can. It is made of thin brass sheets that seem to be pressed or maybe even soldered together. I tried looking up pictures to see what sort of blade it may have gone with without any success. Just looking to see if anyone might recognize it's make. Thanks for any suggestions.

It is 3 and a half inches high and at it's widest about 1 and 7/16ths inch. So it's frontal area takes up a bit over 3 sq. inches. Hope this helps.

Note: The 'thumbnail' of this is only about half an inch smaller than the actual item(at least on my screen).
