It sure does, doesn't it? I have seen a number of different mess kits over the years, and cannot say which this is. But, that is what it looks like.

I've seen it, in a mess kit somewhere. I'm thinking civilian rather than military. Pots and pans nested together, and that would have been a lid of sorts,
over the top of the nested pans. The picture is actually Coleman single burner stoves inside, with the container being able to be use for pots to cook in.

Hello everyone...well i didnt show the end of the handel, but its not connected together, just ends at two points....the bottom edge of pan is rounded smooth and the upper lip is really curled over. the pan is smashed, but very strong ! I cannot flex the pan anypart very thick ! are the mess kits that strong back in the day? also the small metal handel has been rusting along time..you know when you come across very old metal how it looks. any guesses on how old ? I found this pan about 10 feet away from a 100 year old pried apart lever lock that i also have on what is it thread, you can see pix, maybe same age ??
