Help Identify Mark on Bayonet and age?

May be from the early 1900's?
It is 20 inches overall length. The blade is 15 and a half inches. The only mark that I can see is an 8 within a circle on the blade by the handle.
Also I am from Australia and found this in my grandfathers stuff when he passed away if that is any help.
