Headquarters South East Command. Looks US military and the tiger (or lion-hard to tell) is part of the division logo. It probably hung in an office of a higher ranking officer. Cool find! Sub8-)

It is British WW2 era. "This Command came into existence during WW2, and was formed for operational and administrative purposes from the Aldershot Command and that portion of the Eastern Command which lay south of the Thames. Their Headquarters was at Reigate. South-Eastern Command ceased to exist at the end of 1944." British Formation Signs

Excellent detecting work diggummup!

I just uncovered the same info and more! Spot on!

I just learned there are also existing patches remaining from this particular army but no Shields on display. Definitely a rare, unique item!

I will contact the Imperial War Museum in UK to see if they want to place this back to it's original home. Probably snuck out during the war from a US soldier.

Kind Regards,

John

Thanks! Treasurenet!

That shield may well be the only one ever made like it, it would be really cool to get it back to where it came from especially if there's not may relics of the unit left.
