This is not that interesting, but some friends thought it might be part of an old muzzle loader. It apears to be made out of brass and the longer part is slightly beveled. Thanks

the bigger industrial deep well pumps that have the driveshaft that goes down the center of the motor has a "T" keeper that looks just like that. it looks the motor shaft/drive shaft/coupler together...
