What does the back look like?

I'm thinking a lapel/collar stud rather than a button.

Not coming up with much to add except this. You need to show how big this item is. Those kind of details are essential for a correct ID.

Also you can’t really expect some random person on eBay to correctly identify the thing they are selling. But if we knew how big yours was or a picture of the back of it. We could probably say yes it’s a rivet from a denim something..

yeah i don't know that the first ebay person from my photo really knew for sure that it was from wrangler. Probably just saw the scrap of denim on the back. Then went "hmmm, denim... jeans.... wrangler. I know those old wrangler jeans are worth a lot of money, so im going with that" lol

Apparently the second one doesn't know what a wobble shank button is. That being said, he probably is guessing at the source, too.
