Forgot to mention, the ground where I found these is littered with them.

Look up basalt, could that fit?

Try burnning one. If it burns then Turkish Man is correct.
Basalt is a dark volcanic rock but it would normaly be described as heavy.
Rhyolite is a lite volcanic rock but it is normaly light colored.
What about these rocks makes you think volcanic?

They kind of resemble a cooled blob of magma but I have a feeling Turkish Man is right.

I found these rocks a while back and I'm not exactly sure what they are. These are very light weight and look like they have been melted. I believe they my be some kind of lava rocks. Any ideas?


Where were the specimens located. State, where in the state, by a river, etc....
