A friend of mine found this item while on a shallow water dive. It's globe shaped and has a smaller globe within. The smaller internal globe is hollow with an opening on the bottom. The joining of the two globes at the base appears to be done by hand. The neck has notches ground in it, maybe for some sort of a capture device to hold the rubberized plug? It appears to be hand blown glass (Measurements are in the photos). Any help is appreciated!

That is one cool bottle, I thought it might be a fly trap but it's not that style. I hope someone knows:) maybe it is a custom piece for chemicals. Nice find!

Since it was found on a dive, my first thought was 'net float ball'. But I can't find any with a plug like that.

You all have better guesses than I did! Thanks and let me know if you think of anything else.

I think it's an antique/vintage round bottom distillation chemistry lab flask. A distillation flask basically has a bottle within a bottle or a separation area on the inside. More than likely it is made out of Borosilicate glass, which has silica and Boron in it.

It's a super neat find especially since it is old, glass, and NOT broken!

I agree with Bruce. Fire extinguisher. Which could have been carried on a ship.
