Help ID an iron thing

Finally made it out in 2016. Found this near a 19th century farm house foundation. 4-1/2" x 2-7/8".

Lots of plow and carriage parts littering the area. Anyone recognize it?

That is a double ring bedrail fastener, similar in nature and design to this single ring variety

Yes, the item in the top right of Mud Hut's picture shows an item that has been posted many times, and I don't recall if they had ever been identified with certainty... But now I can't find any of the threads with them?!

Adding to the story, my friend creates those tall ugly metal bird statues that hold flower pots. It's now being fashioned into a set of glasses for the next sculpture. I give him all my neat, odd finds.
