Been digging these 9mm bullets (more or less, diameter varies a bit depending on where measured). Same area I am finding Civil War 2 and 3 Ringers. But, the woods are BIG and lots of bullets from hunting.

I am wondering about approximate age? anyone recognize the type of bullet and when approx was used? notice they have 2 rings. sometimes they are down quite deep.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes fired....the bullets show rifling scars from the gun barrel.

Also I wouldn't use depth for gauging age, especially with bullets....I found an 1860 something IHP 1/4" down once....my fingernail was my digger of choice

found a great video explaining them. the ones i am digging are termed "semi-wadcutters" (SWC).

I am posting the video link in case anyone wants to view it.

thanks again for the help. you nailed it. age, we will never know! :dontknow:
