HELP I.D. MILITARY BADGE..Calvary???

Hello everyone!!!,I am trying to figure this badge/award out.I'm not sure of the initialsCDS? SCD?? And if it is regular cavalry or a military school badge,It's marked j marriott boston(who made gold badges)and is approx.4in. and weighs 24g.could be gold but it's not marked as such,I'll test later.So if anybody can point me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated!!! I don't think it's military, I'm thinking more of a civic organization piece. The initials have me stumped but I was thinking along the lines of "Catholic D? Society" or something like that. It's a really cool piece and some background on it would help to id it, like what part of the country it came from, any history on who it came from...etc...

No real history,It was bought at an estate sale with NO answers for 's i had! Religious? It doe's say 1st.place COMPANY DRILL engraved&The crossed sword's of the calvary...It's the circle(@swords)that has me confused!!! Thank's for the input! I am still searching&WILL update or solve when possible!!! HAPPY HUNTING!

I think the seller's guess is largely wrong. But I think the two may be from similar institutions or groups. Maybe military academies?
