Earlier I had this in "todays finds" and it was viewed a bunch, but not really any comments. I dug this at a house built in 1860s and has been lived in ever since. I do know its a order of the eastern star pin, but not sure how to date. It could be from 1800s or the 1960s for all I know. ??? I think it is a lapel pin? The back is not a single pin, but has 2. I assume to keep the pin straight not spinning. One is broken off and the other bent flat against the back. So if any masonic guys or gals that can help put a date to it, that would be greatly appreciated. Haven't been able to match it up. Thank you in advance and have a great day!

Order of th Eastern Star. Free-mason splinter group less interested in world domination and burying treasure to unrecoverable depths.

No help with the date but if you show the back it might be of a mechanism/design that would help date the pin.

Hi Charlie P. Thank you for your time, that sure is a match, size and shape and the markings. I went on the link you provided and only thing that is different (I will have to double check when I get home) is the back. And as you mentioned, I will try to take pic of back. But this is for sure it. Mine may be a little earlier or later than the link. I doubt if I will be able to get exact date on it. Again, thank you for your time.

Wow, You guys did a good job IDing it, I would have never guessed that that is what the star is for, or that it might have went a ribbon.

coinman123- yes, Charlie P nailed it!

Charlie P- Thanks again for investigating! I was able to determine not only the front spot on, but the back is identical to the link you gave! I guess without the ribbon, don't really know what year it was or what chapter. But I now have a good idea! Thanks.
