Found this last week and couldn't find one exactly like it online. Not sure why a New York button would be on a site where we've found numerous confederate military buttons (?). Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks and hope everyone had a great weekend!

In Albert's button book it is number 12A. From the back mark book it states that back mark was used on that button from 1828 to 1829.

Thanks. I guess sooner or later I'll have to invest in one of those books! Thanks again

Duggap, pardon me please... but the most recent edition (butternut-colored cover) of the button-backmarks book "American Military Button Makers And Dealers; Their Backmarks & Dates" says this button's backmark, with only "Clark & Pelletreau / New York" on the back dates from 1819 - 1821. From 1822 -1824, the firm was Clark, Pelletreau, & Upson. In 1828 - 1829, only Pelletreau remained.

You are correct and so was my book. I just read it wrong.

Thanks Cannonballguy for the updated info. Much appreciated! As always!
