Help choosing new MD with best display for poor vision

Hello, I’m a long time MD’er and I’m in a position now where I’m having difficulties seeing the LCD display on my White’s DFX. I know the machine well but it’s difficult to manage now. I’ve recently got a new MD (Nokta Makro Simplex +) that has a more simple panel and setup, but the display is not as easy to see as I would like it. I don’t have a Detector store to tryout a different model but I’d value some opinions here. I’m impressed with the Minelab Equinox 600/800 display and setup I’ve watched in videos. VDI display, tones and setup are most important to me. Any opinions or recommendations appreciated.

Either Equinox is my pick. I started with a AT pro, the equinox to me seems easier to learn.

Never used enough different ones to specifically recommend one, but what I can tell you is what not to get is a Whites mx sport. That thing glares in my eyes a lot.

Thanks, good to know. It doesn’t have to be easy, I’m willing to work at it but the display needs to allow it.

Equinox 600 or 800, Large Numbers. very good for bad eyes, I know.

Also for consideration is the Minelab Vanquish 540.
I’m sure you have seen some amazing discoveries her from many users.

Thanks, that’s a great help. It seems like there’s always something a little better dangling out front if you have the budget. I don’t have a huge amount invested in the Simplex and I’m trying to give it a chance but it’s tough going. One thing I learned is not to wear polarized sunglasses. The Simplex display must be polarized as well...it’s even harder to read when looking through the polarized glasses.

I can relate to a point as I've got cataracts and macular degeneration and I must wear sunglasses good for uv ray reduction. Polarized are great in my opinion. I try to go with the tones more than the display, but am not familiar with the Nox display or yours for that matter. If your condition is one like mine that will worsen then go more by tones. At some point I won't see well enough to even get there to do the detecting. Hopefully, this will take decades.
