HELP!!! can anyone help me figure this out?

Hi, Im really new to detecting and I could use a little help with ID. I found this in my backyard. From what I can find out searching the internet this is a US Ordnance Indian Wars helmet button. it seems the date would be 1872-1895. Can anyone point me in a direction to find out more info. From all I can tell it is an original not a replica.

Looks more like a collar stud/disc & later than 1900 would be my guess.

It's an artillery collar disc from WW1-WW2 era.

It is definitely post-WWI era artillery enlisted collar insignia. Picture 1 below is the WWI brass and the second is the pre-WWII to modern era brass.
