Help a newbee I don't know what I have found
I found this statue while snorkeling in Porto Rico. It is about 7.5 inch high and made of poured metal with a round base when I scratched away some of the coral the metal was very shiny silver and when you tap the statue it rings nice and clear. I have found a picture of Ioe a greek princes and the face is an exact match. I am new to treasure hunting and don't know how to tell what metal it is and what is really or why it was were it was. please help if you can. Also is there some way to tell if the metal is silver or not.
Thank for all the helpI didn't find it near a cruise dock but who knows. I have thought about pewter. As for lead it is not soft at all. I am so glad I found this forum with all the help you folks are offering. I am going to a different Island in february with a new detector and big dreams.
Thanks again
