As the tag suggests I have been "lurking" here since I began the wonderful hobby of metal detecting and I am blown away by the camaraderie and the community type atmosphere you get here on these Boards. It's wonderful. I was introduced to the hobby by a member here on TNet. I will be forever grateful to sekypaleo (aka Bill) for teaching me the ins and outs of the hobby as I have had some early success and I pretty much owe it all to Bill. Bill and I went out this weekend and I happen to make some very nice finds, some minie balls and a very nice tompion. To make a long story short about the tompion, I'll just say I'm glad Bill was there with me! I'll post as often as I can.

Wassup Greg! Great finds...you have done so much better than me when I first started relic hunting many many moons ago. I think you will be a force to be reckoned with in the relic hunting world. Tompions are not a common Union find.....I have only seen one here on T-net in the last year and I have only dug 3 in my 15 years. It sure does look like you dug a piece of one also...did you check the area around where you found the piece good? Man the nasty bug bites I have today!!! Yesterday was a tough hunt.
Between the tompion and that excellent carved bullet you have had a GREAT August. Congrats, and welcome to T-net!
