hard to make it out but if you zoom in you can see 1771 on the right hand side of the blade across the top, to the right of that is the makers mark.

Good Lord I think that is a banner find. I would loved to have seen what it has seen at a safe distance.

Figured I'd throw my mug up here. I got lucky and found a tomahawk dated 1771, with a makers mark. This picture was taken near Alderson, WV, in greenbrier county on a buddys farm. I also found some prehistoric pottery shards, 6 arrowheads, and a silver baby spoon. One of my best hunts to date. Thanks for looking , and have a good one TN.
