hello i'm GOUGER......

.........and I hate Mercury dimes.......so I kill them with my screwdriver!

Seems like everytime I dig a nice coin.....I become "gouger". Actually this one was under a hot rock.....I dug the rock out, scanned the rock and it didn't sound the same, so pinpointed the hole, then saw this little victim.....

I went hunting with BenC2 we hunted a little spot that is starting to produce......I would say about 10 wheats have come out, along with a war nickel, a mercury.....and modern coins.....I hope it will still produce..hoping for some bigger silver one day..

Nice gouged silver finds.... . You might want to invest in a brass probe to eliminate gouges in coins. Other wise great digs..

Don't beat yourself up. We have all (or mostly all) gouged
something at one time.

That's true, but only when we start out, you learn good when a nice rare coin or object is finally pulled from the ground and it has a large strip across it. YOU only do it once! Don't use a screwdriver or something like that, JUST dig a bigger hole when finding a object. Leave more room around the target.

I would suggest a 1 foot by 1 foot plug. I bladed a nice merc and wheatie too....I learned real quick like...Dig big hole!! LOL Goodluck on future hunts. jgas
