Dug every signal that resemble gold today and came up with about a buck in change.....a pile of foil, can slaw and pull tabs but was able to leave the field with a 1943 gold class ring (10k). The ring is very worn no school name barely can read the date....gold is gold....yahoo.

So pull tabs and gold give the same tone or signal? I've been setting my detector to trash out pull tabs, will this trash gold as well?

PS. I would just test it out and see for myself but no gold on hand at the moment.

Gold is good! I'll have to admit, I try digging all the signals, but I get tired and lazy after awhile and ignore the pull tab signals. Many of the places I hunt are loaded with tabs and pop-tops. Truth be known, you gotta dig a ton of tabs if you want to find the gold. Good for you Greg! Persistence pays off!

If you are finding pull tabs and nickels, you are in the gold zone. The one gold ring I found last year was in the middle of a pile of pull tabs. It was actually a weak signal, right on the edge of my discrimination, and I lost the signal at one point. So I switched to all metal mode while rechecking the dirt I'd pulled out and ta-da 10k.

Exactly what "Mzjavert" said....if you take the pull tabs and can slaw outa then your more than likely missing gold....when you get a chance...look at the make up of metals in which is in gold. I believe they are added to strengthen gold but unsure of that statement....digging it all is the only cure....happy hunting.....gregd
