Hello

Good evening everyone, or morning/afternoon,

Before I begin posting on the forum I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Silas. I grew up detecting with a Garrett "Freedom 1, Coin Commander" and thankfully have

upgraded to the AT Pro very recently. When it comes to metal detecting I'm quite partial to relic hunting and always have been, if I find coins along the way its an added bonus, just

like the bits of foil and pull tabs. I've been detecting for a while but having taken such a gigantic leap in machines I need a great deal of help learning about my detector, and how to

effectively use it, from the people who would know best. I hope in the coming days and weeks to learn about how to best use my metal detector and see some of my fellow

detectorist's amazing finds!. Thanks and happy hunting!

Welcome aboard!! :)

Welcome! From one Michigander to another.
Heading to the U.P this weekend to do a little swingin and a little agate hunting on the shores of Lake Superior.
Hope you can get out and enjoy the beautiful weekend, and find some goodies.

silas i would be hitting yard sales if i were still in michigan,i bet lots of treasures are being sold for nothing.

Only in my backyard thus far. however I've got a spot lined up this weekend that should be good, as three generations have lived on the spot, so I'm hoping for some dropped coins, but we'll see!

I do my best to hit the "barn sales", as in my experience these hold many treasures that can be had for a reasonable price. Now that the garage sale sections are full to the brim it should be proper hunting!

Thank you all so very much for the warm welcome! I look forward to getting to know you all in the coming months and hopefully years. We've chosen a fantastic hobby and I look forward to seeing everyone's finds and sharing a few of my own along the way! Best of luck to everyone and as always, happy hunting!

Wow! I remember my first detector was a freedom 1 coin commander. Welcome to T-net!
