Now that winter is here I hope this site can help with the winter blues. Anyways my name is Matt and I,ve been detecting and gold prospecting for almost a year now, I'm a member of the Gopher state treasure hunters and a member of Twin Cities chapter of the GPAA.

Thanks for the warm welcomes, I need it in this frozen winterland.

Hello Mat,... I'm also from St Paul and looking into buying an AT Pro...just wondering about laws and such here in MN. I heard many scare stories about this state...and Wisconsin also!
How about you?

As far as I know state parks are of limits as well as the three rivers district but unless its posted everything else is far game. Also check out the gopher state treasure hunters website the forum has alot about local stuff oh and ramsey county parks you suppose to have a permit...their free.

Welcome---GO VIKINGS !!:icon_thumleft:

Welcome! I've managed to find some old coins in your town in years past.......just not this time of year! Brrrr.......

Hey Matt,

I'm in Farmington (just south of you). I just got an AT PRO last summer, but didn't use it much since I'm in school full time and work full time, but I will have a better schedule this Spring/Summer. Let me know if you want to get together sometime for a hunt. I have one spot in particular along the River that I would like to check out. Shoot me a PM or email if you're interested.

Thanks

Trevor

Trevor I sent a pm.

hi and welcome Matt! I'm currently living in NE Minneapolis, I would love to chit chat about prospecting here in MN. From my research it's a lot of flake gold from when glaciers were crushing our bedrock. I'm just interested in panning, do you detect for gold? Which do you prefer? I'm going to walk down the Hiawatha waterfall area next summer and check out that long stream!
