Been doing pretty well hitting alot of clad at ball parks and city parks the past couple of months. I just started up the hobbie this year, the first time out was in July this year, I went to the Beach and found 1 Clad 1978 Quarter after playing around finding alot of foil and trash,, so I didn't get skunked. The coin was like a redish color so I couldn't tell what I had right away until I got home and cleaned it up. Was pretty exited on the ride home thinking I found some rare silver coin but the thrill of finding treasure and something was the go for me, I really enjoy the hunt! I pretty much been going out 2 a week since July hitting all the local parks and other cities around here as well, and am happy to say that everytime I've been out detecting, I've found at least 1 or more coins at every location I hit, sometimes with more than a pocketfull, so I'm doing something right.,,right?
Up until today... i picked a torn down old school yard with just a foundation where the school use to stand and remnents of the playground.
Long story short.....Tons of trash, nails...tabs , conduit , wires, bent spoons, brackets, jiggly things , and just junk......Spent like 3 1/2hrs. and plus the ground was hard and rocky...got a blood blister weiring gloves, not even a chewed up penny!
Then while detecting my way back to my truck , I got a signal, I dug and sifted, nothing, I pulled out this funny rock and threw it aside, nothing in the hole? Hit the rock and it sounded off, dont know what it is, I'll have to take a picture sometime and figure out how to post it here for you guys. Anyways, not finished yet...Put the rock in my truck, I was parked under a real messy Eucaliptus tree (sorry bad speller) leaves all over a kinda dirty mushy wet dirty all kinds of trashy hits going off on my detector, kicking leaves all over the place out pops a folded $5 Dollar bill and wrapped around a $1 Dollar bill, hey...not a coin
but I still didnt get skunked...... Happy to be here, hello everyone! Take it and go!
